Franchise history
Edmonton played its foremost series of unionized games using a formation of the Alberta Rugby Football Union within 1895. Within 1897 the name Esquimaux was adopted. Within 1910 a club was officially named the Edmonton Eskimos. Since 1978 a Eskimos have played their at home games within Commonwealth Sports stadium, which is nowadays the exclusively natural grass field in the CFL. It is one of a virtually all successful teams within Canadian football history, having won a Grey Ventral suction cup to a higher degree any more team except a Toronto Argonauts, and existence a start-away leader attending for numbers of years.
